CECIL is one of Brazil’s leading companies in the processing of copper and its alloys, serving highly demanding sectors such as the automotive and energy industries. With a complex manufacturing facility, the company operates large-scale equipment in its extrusion, rolling, and cooling lines, where operational continuity is the cornerstone of profitability.
Before implementing IBBX technology, CECIL faced the typical risks associated with offline maintenance at a high-throughput plant. The management of assets such as rolling mills, basic furnaces, casting pumps, and cooling towers relied on manual inspections, which created blind spots. Without real-time data, the maintenance team faced the imminent threat of catastrophic breakdowns, unplanned downtime, and high corrective maintenance costs, which compromised the delivery flow of dozens of tons of material.
With the implementation of the IBBX solution, CECIL digitized its maintenance strategy, beginning to monitor 21 pieces of critical equipment online via 74 sensor points. The Retina platform enabled the early detection of serious faults, such as gear wear, mechanical play, and bearing failures, through the analysis of RMS acceleration and vibration spectra. With 100% accuracy in diagnostics, CECIL transformed its operations: what was once a risk of failure has become a “validated” and planned event, ensuring asset preservation and millions in savings from avoided risks.
